Phew! I finished the book! Now comes the hard part…writing the review, which I have to finish by Sat, as I have been told…

But before that, I am here writing a short post…as I always noticed, whenever I take a sabbatical…there is just so much happening in the World, so much. Here are some of them, which you should not miss…

Remember Syria? Yes, a civil war is going on…good thing is some country has finally got the guts to say that, without any kind of diplomatic double speak…ironic thing is it came from Russia, and not West. Meanwhile, here is an interesting take on the snowballing crisis. Apparently it is NOT about democracy, but about Shia Sunni never ending problem, which is the reason for Arab League to mark Syria rogue. Somethings just never change, howsoever much “democratic” revolutions take place I guess…

Meanwhile in “modern” Libya, being a liberal is evidently tough…and in “modern” Morocco, it is a sin for women to smoke in public…

Finally, two extreme ends of a spectrum from Middle East…from Saudi Arabia, and Egypt. ( Aliaa Magda Elmahdy, if you are reading this, let me tell you, I am floored by your courage…if only Western liberals, our own Indian intellectuals actually knew who to fight against… )

Anyway, moving to Australia now…when Hillary said last month, the focus of USA would be Asia-Pacific, she actually was quite serious about it. China however is wary of USA troop increase, as well as Australian change of nuclear policy towards India.

Two news that you should know seriously.

1. Pakistan blocked over 1500 words in SMS use, including words such as Fairy, deeper, gay and hole…but not Jihad, or terror.

2. The neutrality of journalists…is a matter of serious concern…NOT here in the third world, but USA! Haha! Gotchya!

Finally, before ending…some great stuff, where a designer from Germany made dresses of milk, and Benetton came out with a brilliant concept, ofcourse much criticised and controversial as all form of brilliance initially is…which still gives me hope that among all the negativity, our planet and our human race might still just survive…
